SP2 shut down mid ride

So I was out riding a while back and my bike died. I went to accelerate to pass a car and the engine just shut down The lights remained on as well as the gauges, the battery still had full power, and the fuel pump would prime and the gauges would cycle when the kill switch was turned on....but no fire. I've read through every possible forum and checked as much as I could on my RC, such as the kickstand switch, bank angle sensor, relays, fuses, looked for open/rubbed wires touching the frame, tested the stator / rectifier to the best of my knowledge.

The only thing that seemed a little suspect are the coils. I tested the primaries on both the coils at .8 ohms and the secondaries tested at 18.7 through the boots and 14.5 without the boots.

I believe the problem is possibly the CDI and coils, considering I have no spark on either cylinders. So now I'm just waiting for those to come in the mail on Tuesday.

I didn't want to bother anyone on this forum with my electrical problems, but I figured now is the time to possibly pick brains pending on the outcome of the CDI / Coils. So if that doesn't work I guess I'd move to the IPG, any suggestions or am I missing anything?

IPG will do that, but it's usually accompanied with a FI code 19.

Thanks for the reply. I never had any FI codes show when I jumped the connector. So hopefully it's just the CDI and possibly the coils. Do yall think I'm safe to test fire the bike with the new CDI?

I've disconnected and cleaned the frame mounted ones. I get off shift tomorrow morning, so I guess I'll know if the CDI fixed the problem or not. I'm still wondering about the readings I got from the coils though. Anyone else have a known good coil to test the primary ohms?

Update: I wired in the CBR coils in and plugged in the new CDI. She fired right up! Now hopefullt the problem is resolved.

Also I made adapters for the factory plugs to fit the CBR coils. Works good!
