Engine Problems

Went for a short ride and the bike acted like it lost a cylinder. Turned around and headed home. The bike backfired a lot when I let off the throttle. The power would also come and go. I stopped and filled up and let it run for about 5 minutes. It still acts funny. This morning I did check the FPR and it did not leak and the fi light has never come on. I have an 04 with a pc3 with erion pipes. I have never had any issues with the bike before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the battery and earth connections first. I have also seen similar issues caused by the regulator/rectifier failing. You can check this by checking your charging voltage at the battery.

I believe its fixed. I put some injector cleaner in, charged the battery, checked the air filters, and changed the plugs. I think it was the plugs. Took it out for a short ride and seems to be fine. I found the plugs(NGK Ifr9h11) at advanced auto for $9.99 each. Time will tell if it all worked. Thanks to all.
