Probably a simple clutch lever question.

Still new to my rc51, so this is porbably a real simple issue.. I dont know.

My bike wont start unless I put it into neutral. A friend of mine checks and said the the clucthe lever switch is not the issue. He was able to push in the clutch lever switch, and start the bike in first gear.. simulating, pulling in the cluctch.

He says my after market lever is either not the correct one, or missing a pin or something. As nothing is making contact with the clutch lever sensor.

I bought the bike used. It does have an after market black lever on it.

Can you guys point me in teh right direction.
Do I have to buy a stock lever? and switch the missing part over?!?!
OR do i just have a wrong AFTER MARKET lever on it now? If so, can you tell me which aftermarket lever engages the switch properly?

Thanks again.

No crystal balls here (maybe balls of steel though lol). Look at it yourself and see what you have and what is going on. Any of us posters don't have the bike in front of us to look at. Look at the lever, the switch, and how they interact (or don't). Compare to the oem switch in the parts diagram. If the lever and switch don't mate and work together and the switch looks oem get an rc51 specific lever. Etc, etc.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

That makes sense. Im going to have to remove this "mystery" clucth lever.. and compare it against a picture of a stock unit.. or worse, buy a stock lever.. just so i can see the diff.

I have a slightly banana curved clutch lever, bent just a little from when I dropped my bike. It works perfectly; I was just being anal about the bend. I don't need it and could send it to you for the cost of shipping if interested. Does this have everything you'd need?
