Intermittent Power Loss

Ok so i hate to have to start asking questions about issues but here goes: If I get the bike warm and it sits at around 220-224 (fans are working) When I start off or go full throttle from pulling away it will hesitate and then HIT to wherever the throttle is at. Sometimes it will cut out but crank back up???? Never does it cold and for the first time I smelled a bit of fuel but think it may be contributed to the amount that is dumped in when the hesitation goes away. The lights and power all work it feels like it's either cutting fuel or spark. Anyone else experience this issue?

Had the same issue when the map was off on the PC3, remapped and all was good again. Would tolerate the map slightly off at normal temps, but as soon it got hot (traffic, pulled over heat soak) it would cut out and misfire when pulling away or accelerating.

Might not be your issue, but if you have mods and no PC, or your PC map is off, could well be a place to start.

If you smell fuel, check your fuel pressure regulator too. @jondog9 put up a good how to, but you will need to search for it.

Your description is exactly what I'm experiencing - no mods FYI - bone stock except for sprockets. Yes after heat soak is the only time I experience this condition otherwise it runs as expected.

@madbuyer - I've already ordered an FPR just in case! I'll do the search for the test procedure you mentioned.

The fpr is easy to get to, just lift the tank and you'll see the main fuel line with the banjo fittings going right to it.

THANK YOU jondog! Followed the directions and when the key is turned on I get fuel dripping out of the vent line as described in your link. Ordering another as a spare FPR now - happy day's.

Glad to help, hopefully that's the culprit.
I'm not sure how necessary it is to have a spare fpr. They seem to work fine until they sit unused for a long spell.
I'd probably use the money to buy spare relays for the bank angle, fuel cut, high beam, and fan. They all use the same relay, and on my bike, they all failed within about one year of each other.

Agreed, but I'm planning an extensive two week ride so I'll have a spare FPR and now I'm going to order 3 new relays and carry one as a spare.

I just installed it and Holy Crap what a difference and now that I have constant fuel supply I'm positive the it's help cooling it. I was riding in 105F and it was significantly cooler on the bike in the tank area.
