SP2 fans won't work

04 RC, fans won't come on when bike comes to temp. Have replaced the relay in tail, have good voltage at motors. Work fine when jump them off the battery. Any ideas before I take the tank off and check the thermo sensor. If they work when jumped at the connectors that are mounted on radiators, could there still be a bad ground ? Thanks for any help !!!

I'm not a wiring expert but I like your trouble shooting. If power is sitting at the fan relay it makes sense that the thermal switch isn't giving the fan relay a ground. Jumping the thermal switch should close the fan relay.

Yes it does have a ground from ecu on housing. I removed the plug that goes to ect and turned ignition on, like stated in manual. It shows - - F and indicator light does not come on. So I ordered a new sensor and thermostat. Shiuld be here in couple days. Hopefully that is it, everything else has checks out good.
