Extra part after maintenance???

I had all the bodywork off of my 2002 RC51 this weekend to change the oil and install new Galfer front brake lines. When it was all back together I found this little vent and can't find it on any of the parts breakdowns to figure out where it goes.
Also, I'm finding lots of missing / incorrect fasteners as I work on things. Is there a thread or something that gives instructions on installing those captive nuts that hold the front inner cowl screws? My son and I lost a little blood and ended up destroying 1 of them trying to pull/push it into the hole on the left cowl...

I had the same piece come off last year after washing. Thought it was some sort of vacuum line. Spent some time tearing the bike apart looking for where it goes before noticing one on the back of the other headlight. Funny little headlightsl check valve...

Fifth Gen VFR guys go nuts trying to figure out where a little black plastic cover (about the size of a business card) goes when it ends up on the garage floor and/or after a tipover.

It goes under the headlight assembly in the front fairing, and its purpose is for access to the tiny center-mounted "running light" bulb that American bikes DON'T have.

So that makes me wonder why our RCs---of the same generation as the Fifth Gens---don't have a similar mystery piece in the front fairing.
