Mondial Piega Problem

Guys, I'm a newbie from the UK, sorry for the long first post.......

My bike is a Mondial Piega Nera, a limited version of the Mondial with an SP1 motor and dash, but a unique ecu......
About a year ago, my gas tank sprung a leak on a seam, and I had to have it professionally repaired.
When I refitted the tank(and integral pump) the bike has the following issue.
The bike starts and ticks over perfectly, it will rev, to an extent, with the choke on, but with no choke it pops and bangs under medium throttle and dies.
It will always restart and tick over perfectly.

I have changed......
FPR
Fuel pump
complete throttle bodies and injectors
Voltage regulator

It defo feels fuel related, but I've changed everything.

The FI light comes on when the fault occurs, but the Mondial ecu flashes up 20 (I think) which signifies that the diagnostic memory is not connected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's doing my head in!!!!

Thanks,

John.

Let me start by saying there are a lot of smart people around here but sadly, I'm not one of them so there's not much I can offer. Nonetheless, all this started immediately after the tank was repaired and re-installed. So assuming you never touched the ECU or Power Commander (if you even have one) neither should be a factor. Sounds like it could be a fuel delivery problem. Check for a pinched fuel line, clogged filter/outlet, correct voltage at the fuel pump and a solid ground. Also, I believe what you referred to as the choke is really just a fast idle. Next up might be the ECU, it could be a coincidence that it failed right after the tank repair. Good luck and keep us informed.

Often times when lifting/replacing the tank the wires to the pump become pinched/cut. Exact same symptoms I had and it was the FP wires. My only thinking is that it idles on gravity feed then dies one throttle is applied? Worth a try? Does the pump prime? If so I would rule out the wire thought.
