Turn One Carbon

Just wanted to let people know that Turn One IS still able to make the carbon airbox for either Sp1 or 2 and the Mk2 Carbon Snorkle funnel/front cowl mount for our RC51's

I have just exchanged emails with Brett regarding this as I will be picking up my SP1 TurnOne Carbon airbox next month to match my Mk2 snorkle I picked up few years ago.
He explained to me that since demand has dwindled away he does not stock them but he is still willing to make them to order and have them shipped to you with in 14-21 days ( after payment clears of course )
For those interested p.m me as i do not want to post his email to protect him from the spammers and people that are not serious about it.

Whether you have an SP1 or SP2, always order the T-O SP2 airbox.
It's is interchangable between both models.
But if you order the T-O SP1 airbox, it can ONLY be used on an SP1.

It has nothing to do with the engines, since the engines are essentially the same.
The SP2 frame has stiffening gussets welded near the steering head the SP1 lacks.
The T-O SP2 airbox has reliefs molded in to clear these gussets.

Really.... very interesting to know that, thank you Sub.
I will be changing my order to an SP2 airbox
I wonder why Brett did not fill me in on this. Oh well,Thanks for saving me the hassle of having to buy another if I upgrade the T.B's and ECU to SP2, or the frame for that matter as I think the front rake angle is different as well from SP1.

No I do not believe they are, as you need the boots off SP2 to mount SP2 T.B's on SP1.
I Think so anyways

Bretts Email back to me.....

G'Day Matt,

Yer , SP-2 Air-box is a good option for your SP-1 as you have a wider resale market if you ever choose to sell the Air-box or get yourself an SP-2.

The SP-2 Air-box will fit all models from 2000 to 2006 and the SP-1 Air-box will only fit the SP-1 2000 /2001 models.

Internal frame gusset are the only issue between models, so the SP-2 Air-box is contoured to fit over the SP-2 frame stiffeners. (see pics attached)

Throttle body inlet ports are 57mm outside diameter on both the SP1 and SP-2 so the holes in the Air-box are both cut the same size.

The throttle body rubber connecting boots are stepped out to accommodate the larger SP-2 throttle bodies' on 2002 to 2006 models,

Cheers , Brett

That's not optimal for air flow and hp on the SP2.
