Got it. So don't let tire eat it. I should be able to handle that. I hope

Apparently it is a lot harder than it sounds.... (and expensive)

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Bike runs great with the new ECU, except it immediately starting blowing coolant out the overflow. I have no idea how it blew a headgasket when it was running perfectly and not overheating or having any symptoms at all the last time I ran it. I suppose it is possible that since I was at proper race pace, beating on it like it owed me money when the ECU died it could have overheated right then when the engine shut off, but I have never seen that happen to any motorcycle before.

No biggie really, but not something I have time to fix now. The Kyle Racing R6 project bike is getting all my focus in the foreseeable future, damn shame though as the RC is a pretty girl once you get to know her

Looks cool and is WAY easier to slip into place as you can see the groove you are trying to line up on the swingarm just by glancing down.

Mike did you check your rad cap? Stupid question but may be a simple issue rather than a head gasket

I was hoping it was that simple, but she spews when you rev it. Take the cap off, rev it a little and she just pukes right out the filler neck with a blast of force. I went ahead and ran it up to to 166° with the cap off and when I shut it off a little sludge of oil came rolling to the top of the filler neck just to say "hello".

I'm now wondering if it just got super hot when the engine stopped running, with zero cool down time or if maybe while the rear tire was eating through the rear harness and turning it into molten wire spaghetti maybe it also leaned out the engine for that half a lap and she just got stupid hot or maybe a combination of both scenarios. I know for 100% sure there was NO cooling problem prior to the electrics getting fried.

Either way it will get sorted in a couple weeks and we'll know for sure as soon as the heads come off.

It's entirely possible you damaged an injector signal wire?

Either way that's exceptionally crappy.
