Looking for rc51 tech in Arizona

New to me, got it up and running after sitting for some time and runs good. I am hearing a lot of noise from the engine. Seems like it’s in the front cylinder more then anywhere else. Since these bikes are new to me I’m not sure if it’s normal or not. Would love to find someone close that really knows these that could listen and tell me if it’s normal. I’d consider taking it to the Los Angeles area if I had to. Want to ride but don’t want to hurt it more if there is an issue.

See if you can listen to another one before you get too worried. The gear drive for the cams can seem noisy to those who are more used to bikes with quieter cam chains.

Thanks for the info, now I need to find someone in the Phoenix area that owns one! I come from old school turbo Kawasaki’s that always seem to have some chain noise. This one is bad enough I don’t want to ride it until I know.

I will give them a call. Need to head down to Tucson anyway, maybe throw the bike in the truck and make the trip. Thanks!

No Worries. Evan is great and prob built one of the later "high end" RC51s so his knowledge is fresh and applicable to todays market.

I usually wouldn't recommend shops as i do 99% of my own work but his is one of the few that has some REAL credentials.

I had my bike Dyno tuned there and was very pleased with them. If you are in Tucson and want to come listen to my bike for a comparison, let me know

Evan's business partner is Phil, who will likely be the guy answering the phone right now. Evan is busy prepping Kyle Wyman's bikes for the 2020 Motoamerica season. Don't worry about it though, Phil is very knowledgeable as well.

Legit race shop.
