Title Editing not Updating in Thread List ( *_* )

Not a big deal, but twice I've posted threads, made an error in the title and subsequently edited/corrected the title. Once the thread is clicked, you can see the updated title, but the pre-edited title remains in the thread list.

I've noticed that too.
Just gotta double check your spelling in the title before the initial post.

Here ... I edited my post to change the title

I don't think members can edit the actual title once a thread is started.

You can set or edit the title of your post, including the first one, but not the thread.

In other words, the title you see at the top of your first post is not the title of your thread.

At least, I think ...

Hey there,

There is a solution for it, On your initial post, click "Edit" on the bottom right of your post. Once you click that you will see 4 red buttons labeled "Save" "Go Advanced"...etc. Click on "Go Advanced", and you will have access to change your thread title. Save the title name, then go to the thread list and let me know if that works for you.

I hope this helps.

~Richard.

I just went into advanced edit and added ( *_* ) to the thread title, which did change, just not in the thread list. I mean, like i said, really no big deal, just figured I'd bring to attention to see if there's a simple resolve.

Hi guys,

I took a look at the settings and there is a edit limit on how long you have after making a post and editing the title of it. 5 minutes is the max edit time at the moment. In order to increase this, we would have to get the mods approval on a set time. What seems like a reasonable edit limit for titles? 1 hour?

5 minutes does make sense. 1 hour would also make sense. I suppose it's more specific to classifieds, let's say I have a list of 1-10, or 20-30 items, and I've only listed a couple or one part on the thread title. It's been a week or so, I've sold those couple items, and now the thread title is not indicative of it's contents. Or I'm wrenching on the bike, swapping parts, taking photos, sipping on a few cold ones, start a parts thread, add the description, parts photos, make said post. And then, come to realize, several of the parts haven't been removed from the bike, nor described in the parts list or title. But, it's been well over 5 minutes, let alone an hour.
Would it be possible to allow for sale thread titles to be modified indefinitely? That way, when parts are sold or the available parts list has changed considerably or all are sold, the title could be updated in the thread list. For instance, all parts are sold, the member who started the thread could add [SOLD] at the beginning of the title, members could navigate a little more efficiently, and deleting stale threads could be slightly more streamlined. Just my .02

Actually I wonder why there's any time limit of editing your thread's title

There's a lot reason why there's a time limit, mostly because we don't want spammers manipulating threads and scammers changing their deals after a user gets sucked into buying anything.

We can make it an hour if the mods say it's okay.
