Attached pictures

It seems like the attached pictures have become smaller. When I click on the picture, it's not much bigger than a thumbnail. I'm on a large desktop, so I increase image size to say 150% or more, the picture quality degrades notably, losing detail. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Windows 7, google Chrome browser.

Try a different browser to test.
I don't see a problem using Firefox.

Jondog all my attached pictures to the forums are small too.. I thought it was due to attachment size limits..

Do you get decent resolution if you try to enlarge?
I'm guessing size limits is the reason. We post a lot of pics on this site, I can understand that, but for me, I want to see better pics. They seem pretty chintzy right now.
I also have IE, rarely use it tho. Picture viewing is the same, no difference at all.
Not interested in downloading a third browser.

No John when I click on all the thumbnail attachments lately the expanded picture is still small & quality is shitty ..

If you look at Mjay picture attachments on his new build thread the bike is super clean but picture quality is shitty..

Or look at AdamThomas pic attachments today in the "what did you do today.." thread his build is awesome too but the pic quality is shitty

It sucks when guys are sharing all theses clean builds & modifications but we can't even view them with decent pic quality

I'm still learning the ways of the forums but it looks like we're being forced to utilize a third party host site (which I don't have) then use a link to the better quality pics??

Maybe Subsailor can clarify the issue

^ Same for me.
I had a photo hosting site, but they kept nickel and diming me, so I stopped paying.

We definitely need much better picture viewing here. Everything you said above is the same experience I'm getting.

One of the reasons I stay a Premium member here, but not Lifetime, is so the site will get some money each year, instead of me just being grandfathered in for a one-time payment.

How much bigger?

My pictures usually get resized by the site....I usually surf with Chrome too.

I tried downloading a large file to test, and was able to see the file attachment table as a reference.

According to the file attachment size table, the max dimensions for bmp, gif, jpe, jpeg, and png files are 620 x 280, with a max filesize of 19.5 KB.
No max filesize or dimensions were shown for a jpg.

I'm using Chrome, no issues. There are several free picture hosting sites that you can use to upload and share. Many of them offer at least 2G of space for free. I'll pass this along to IT nevertheless....

I've noticed just in the last couple days, most of the attached pics are much larger now. Here's a couple more to see how big they come out.
