Highwaystar22 Probably custom made. I know some TL1000R guys have put chargers on their bikes.

Personally I just wanna continue to bolt on stuff and personalize it more, and of course ride the piss of out her.
I'm a Tuner, what can I say. I love to get every ounce of possible potential out of my bikes (within my budget). And I do understand the rarety factor (I see it already).

I read in this thread someone mention a SUPERCHARGER .... Where the hell can I get one of those??? Or are they custom built? If so anyone have any literature on this topic?

The Stig One of the main benefits when the RC51 was released was half the number of power pulses to the rear wheel, for given engine revolutions, which in the event of a rear end slide (Which happens often in racing) would give an advantage to riders. This and the ruling that 2 cylinder bikes could run 1000cc as opposed to 750 for 4 cyl bikes.
Honda beat Ducati at their own game using the RC51 for a while before rules were changed in WSB.

I've ridden various 4 cyl sports bikes over the years for days at a time, but they just don't have the charm of the RC51, for me at least. Judging by your under ID you probably liked the Hayabusa. Fast bike in a straight line, but pretty slow steering and heavy for cornering (Albeit fairly stable for a sports touring sort of bike). You might find the RC51 more fun in corners...

The RC51 is plenty quick enough and with the right mods is even quicker.. It's a bike that has oodles of charm. I'm still not tired of mine after 4+ years. It's a keeper for life in my book.

Stick with it and enjoy.

gts455 welcome to the forum. My suggestion is red up on this forum and speedzilla. Research the racing history of the bike and what Honda's intent was with it. Then you will better understand what it was designed to do and what its capabilities are.

As far as mods go. do the flapper valve, pair mod, and soft rev.

Then just ride it for awhile....learn on it stock and feel it out. after that i would do a rear shock, fork upgrade, rear link, and tires....and a slip on exhaust for some extra grunt.

After tht i's invest more money into some track days and riding schools and once you get comfortable and fast around a track, then mod for a bit more power.

Currently... PCIII, Hindle High Mount Full System, and other misc mods at the moment.

And believe me, I plan on taking my time. But Im a Tech, so Im always looking to do some more and get more out of my equipment. Just really looking to see whats out there.

For example: (Current Bike Gsxr 1000)
Yoshi Type R Cams
Yoshi Cam Sprockets
Yoshi EMS
Yoshi Hub w/ 3 map handle bar switch
GMD Computrack Reworked forks (valving, springs, etc)
Penske Racing Shock
M4 Racing Full System

Just to name a few mods done.

I love performance machines, and tweaking them to their fullest potential.
Thanks for the insight.

New Member.... What am I getting into???

Ok, so I am about to get my first v-twin. I have riden I4's for a long time and am getting an 02 RC51. Bike history consists of a 93 FZR 600, 07 Hayabusa, 02 GSXR 1000, and soon to be 02 RC51.

What am I getting into here? Any insight would be nice. FYI, I like to think I am pretty savy when it comes to the mechanics of motorcycles, just my experience doesn't consist of much v-twin knowledge.

Any Known Problems?
Recommended Upgrades?

and does anyone have a Service Manual for me? (PDF preferably)

I look forward to contributing to the forum! Thanks to everyone who responds.

(OIF, I see you!!! )
