Here are a few more pics.
This is on a bike and hike.
From that monster vertical climb hike (two shots).
Those dots on the right snow pack are mountain goats.
This shows the ridge I was hiking.

Sorry about the delay. Busy busy. But I managed to post some more here.
I agree JD about vertical. Here are a few examples of vertical from the trip.
I'm not used to the elevation. I camp and start out at a mile high on these trips in the Rocky Mountains and the go higher. It really takes a lot out of me.
First is a dedicated hike. Got above 8250 feet. Over a mile and a half above sea level. This was 3000 vertical feet of climb. Hardest trail I've ever done. It was a ridge hike and a crazy steep ascent. But what a view when up there.
Second is a dedicated bike ride. This is about 1500 feet of vertical climb.
Been riding the mountain bike a lot since I got back. More than the RC51. I am much more fit now than I was earlier this year. I needed this.
This picture shows the flood damage still from 2013. What used to be a 20 ton capacity bridge in the backcountry.

Pictures, or it didn't happen.
Or else I'll say I vacationed on Mars.
P.S. Picture from a happier time (!).

|jondog9||Vertical accents are the real measure of how far you went when it comes to mountain biking, imo. 20 kms per day for 6 days straight is pretty respectable!!! Now you need a staycay after your vacay.|

back from vacay
Been away the last week. No cell coverage or walls. Had a great time in the mountains Mbiking and hiking. Over 120 KM of distance in six days without any consideration of the thousands of feet of vertical climbed. Awesome trip, whipping me into some shape. Great weather too.
Now to read up on the forum. Cheers all.
