SubSailor Don't forget to "burp" cooling system after coolant change to purge air from system.
Crank engine and allow to idle for 2 to 3 minutes.
Then, while on the side stand (to allow any air to migrate towards the radiator cap), blip the throttle 3 or 4 times to purge air in cooling system, stop engine and check coolant level.
Then check coolant overflow bottle is at mid-level between low and high.
Don't overfill the overflow bottle as it can dump excess coolant through the vent hose to the ground, in front of the rear tire. And you know how slippery coolant can be.

Red Flash After I drain mine , I suck out the rest with a wet vac. You only have to pull the lower fairing , the upper stays and isn't in the way anyway. I find Redline Supercool works better than Engine Ice.

10THbikE Pull your fairings, upper & lower. Remove rad cap when radiator is cold. Drain from small hose (coolant bypass hose) at bottom of water pump cover. Refill with non-silicate type coolant. Drain & clean overflow bottle on left side of bike. System should hold 2-2.5 qts.

Coolant Change Procedure?

It's probably out there, but I couldn't get any results on a forum search on this.

Anyone have the procedure for changing the coolant on a 2005 RC51?

Thanks in advance for any help.
