History
I've owned this bike twice. Once as a brand new off the showrooms floor limited edition carbon fiber #251/500. and this beauty. I love, love v-twin sport bikes...Unless its a Ducati...stupid dry clutch. This bike came to me the same way most of them do. A friend who knows I'm addict has a fixer upper and knows I'll buy anything on two wheels if the price is right. It was stock when I got it and stayed that way for about a day....
2000 Buell X1 Lightening (Black)

Modifications

Drivetrain
PM tri mag
Interior
now on my second motor(these evo's don't like to spin as fast as I want them to). I've got a Thunderbolt motor in it. Whole top end is built out with over sized pistons, bench flowed and matched heads, adjustable push rods, cam and lifters, flywheel lightened, big valves.
Exterior
Stripped off all the ugly shit and replaced it with carbon fiber. Painted the rear frame.
Audio
Front is adjusted with springs and gold valve set. Rear is 'new' stock...I know I need to change this out.
Suspension
Corbin seat...I love this thing
Wheel and Tire
Stock, bigger injectors, race flashed ECM

Buells are a lot of fun. Have you tried one of the 1125s? The 'R' is not the best looking bike in my opinion so I went with the 1125CR. With the high bars and EBR ECU it is one of the most enjoyable bikes for day rides.

I haven’t had a chance to ride one yet. I’m stoked to see them come back to the market though. I just scored an Ohlins rear shock for mine as the stock one finally gave up the ghost over the summer.
