I have a Feb 2002 RC51 with 6 spoke wheels. My front rim has a chunk I don't like and I have a nice replacement 2005 5 spoke wheel. Is it a direct swap on the front?

I don't know. I am not the original owner. I provided the mfg date in case someone might know if the early 02's may have still had 6 spoke? Now I am just trying to make sure I can put the 05 front directly on. I can't see any reason why not. But, want to make sure I don't need to swap anything like spacers, etc.

Also, The 3 GUYZ shop is about to measure up the rear wheel for custom sprockets. Are the SP1 & SP2 sprockets exactly the same? Certainly the front would be. But what about the rear with SP1 having 6 spoke and SP2 having 5 spoke. Same sprocket tolerances in rear? Thanks! These sprockets will be trick!

00-01 6 spoke
02-06 5 spoke
And yes, the sprockets are the same (both front and rear) for stock wheels.
Thanks. I think the wheels were one of many things the PO swapped out for his buddies , after totaling this bike but before selling it to me.

Time for the custom sprockets to be made. I'll let the group know how they turn out and if they wil lbe made for sale.

Thanks for the info!

Why are you having them made? are you doing it in Ti? there are so many to chose from, are you not finding what you are looking for?

They are being made for me to test them for the 3Guyz engineering them. The same Guyz who built the exhaust brackets for us. They are hopeful of offering a lifetime warranty on their sprockets. They are using some sort of cyro-hardening process on some sort of high tech metal. I haven't spoken to them much about these yet, but they already measured up my rear wheel. (I didn't have a stock sprocket to build from and they want a factory fit.) They have a set on a big ci chopper, a Buell with a couple of track days and a ZX10 with 3 track days on them. All bikes were measured at 3k miles and showed no measureable wear and none of the chains needed adjustments yet. Of course, the chains will still wear but should be at a much slower rate. Pretty impressive results, but a small sample size. I'll let you know how it goes.
