He didn't record any data for acetone, which he mentioned in the test.
The main problem with harsh solvents is the removal of plasticizers in the rubber.
When that occurs, the rubber becomes stiff and less flexible, allowing contaminants (such as solvents or grit) to pass by and cause chain roller wear.
