After passing 50k miles I decided I should replace the original clutch ('03). Good news is every disc and friction plate were well within service limits with no chips, glazing or discoloration. The springs however were way out of spec and in serious need of replacing.

Note to future self: before ordering parts take the clutch apart and measure everything, could have saved myself some money.

Unless seriously abused, Honda clutch plates seem to last forever.
I had the same result with plates on my '00 VFR800. All plates well within spec.

I reckon they get an easy time, the clutch operation is so godawful as standard that you can't give it the berries and slip the clutch!
