anyone know what the speedos are off from the factory? i have been getting conflicting answers, some sites say 5% and others say 8% or 10.

also anyone ever have their bikes stall when cold and first start off after the 15-20 sec fast idle warmup specified in the manual? mine did it yesterday and was hard to crank back.

currently my bike has sato banzi pipes, pc3r, 42t rear sprocket, speedodrd going on today, and k&n filters (to be replaced as soon as new airbox for gutting comes in).... oh yea and a severe gas drinking habit!

Most speedos have around 5-6% inaccuracy.
Get a speedo-healer for accurate readings with different gearing.

I usually start my bike with the fast idle all way out, and then then gradually push it while glancing at the temp gauge as the engine warms to operating temp.

RC51s (and most performance twins) are not known for their mileage.
The most I've ever gotten was 140 miles on a tank. And those last 11 miles were on reserve/fumes.
On average I get 120 to maybe 130 miles/tank if I'm easy.
Now if I'm not easy and keep those butterflies open a lot, it can drain a tank in 90 miles.
It all depends on your fun/mileage ratio. :)

i have a speedo drd sitting on my desk right now. gonna put it in when i get home, set it up and run some seafoam in the tank. my bike is a 2002 and had less than 4k on it when i got it, so it sat alot. my best tank was about 110 and worst so far was less than 80! the guys i ride with give me hell about gas mileage but i dont care cause i just smile as i pass them! with that said, i am a lil worried about what my real mpg is going to tell me after i fix speedo..... hopefully the true number isnt to horrible.

Actually that was my uncorrected mileage as I don't have a speedo-healer installed.
So for me, that was a worst case scenario.
I run a 15/41 setup on the rear, so my speed is off by around 7 MPH.

the speedo drd was incredibly easy to install and program. took maybe 10 mins. a 16/42 put me at 8mph off at 60 or 11.8%. id deff recomend the drd. for $70 its the smallest and cheapest one i found and has great reviews
