My question is pretty straight forward. Do I need to have the front cowel on when I am marking and drilling my fairings for frame sliders?

I would think leaving them on would make it easier to lay out and harder to actually drill? And if they are the original plastics, I urge you to reconsider.

Drilling original plastics isn't ideal for me, but I had to repair and repaint my gas tank along with my front cowel and right fairing. Here are some before and after pics.

This is the after photo of my front cowel. The bottom piece was a completely broken off so I used some plastifix on it.
