Hi all,

I recently picked up an ’01 RC51 which was in storage for a few years. I changed the battery, put new oil in it, and filled it up with fresh gas. It started right up, but didn’t run for long. I then noticed that the fuel was leaking out from the lowest part of the exhaust where the pipes attach. Any idea what's wrong with my new baby? I lifted the tank and disconnected one of the hoses so that I can drain it, and all the fuel came out. It seems like gravity is pushing fuel into the engine and it just flows right into the exhaust.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

In the past, this has happened if the fuel pressure regulator is having a problem.
It's item 25 in the diagram below.

Thank you! I finally got the chance to work on the bike and it was the fuel pressure regulator! You saved me a whole lot of headaches, so thank you!
