No I'm not some penny pincher stressed about gas prices. Just curious about the average fuel range you guys have been getting. My Beast is a 2000 with 4500 miles and her fuel light comes on between 90 and 105 miles. whether its a solid interstate ride or just going from here to there over a 2 week period. i use 92/93 octane. its not having any engine issues or anything and it runs great I was just curious. She has no PC or anything, straight stock out of the box.

That is quite normal consumption for the beast. Don't forget that when it was built, the gas prices where not that high as they are today and after all it is a superbike ready-to-race bike.
When I bought mine, I had the same fuel consumption like you do.
Mine is a 2000 model and back then it was fully stock, even with the OEM slip ons.
The 16T-40T stock final drive combo is very long geared so you have to twist the throttle a lot to get it moving especially in 5th and 6th gears.
When I did my first gear change and installed the 16T-42T combo I observed that I could easily travel 112 miles with one gas tank (reserve hardly included).
After all I never cared about top speed limit as much as better throttle response inside the corners.
Nevertheless even with the 16T-42T if I kept my highway speed at 160mph I never traveled more than 105 miles before the fuel light came on.

Thanks for the info and gear change numbers. but wait, you said if you kept your speed at 160mph you got 105 miles out of her. I guess if you werent paying attention you would be rolling around at 180 mph. Whats really goin on Makis...You guys be rollin hard out there in Greece huh? LOL I hope you meant KPH.

I think my RC does very well with mileage. I fill up with 3.8 gallons every time and go anywhere from 127-135 miles, depending on how much I play around. I have a turn one, full akra, and PCIII with PC map.

If I drive the canyons I get around 112-117.

I use 91 oct. and most of my riding is highway and very large interval between stop lights. I plan to go 15/41 soon and hope to maybe get a little more mileage but we will see about the :D

I've been getting a steady 27.5 mpg with "moderate" wrist twisitng. Moderate meaning, not riding it easy but far from riding all out.

I have the Sato Banzai exhaust with the Dan Kyle fuel map. Last weekend I was riding over some mountain passes and my fuel light came on at 99 miles. I ran it until 126 miles without a problem. I forgot to check how many gallons went in when I filled up though. :(

On mine, I'd say 120-130 miles per tank at most while casual riding.
I may actually have more, plus reserve, but out in the boonies I err on the safe side.

If I'm really romping on the throttles, all bets are off and I have only gone 90 miles on a tank, as well as my buddy on his Tuono.

My old '05 Busa averaged 41 MPG at 90 MPG, and 45 at 80 MPH.
Amazing for such a big engine.
And I saw 158 miles per tank (low fuel indicator went on) at an average speed of 95 MPH one day.

That's real amazing....I have an 06 that averages around 38 mpg.

Nope.....If you want numbers in km it's
- 240km/h-260km/h highway I travel 150km distance
- 140-160-180km/h highway I travel 170-180km distance

All the above are measured
- with 16T-42T combo
- modifications described in my bike's thread
- 100 RON fuel
- PC III USB with Dynojet's website map for 2Bros slip ons -stock air filter
- with my fuel light on 10-15km before I stop for gas

P.S. 1 -Haven't you heard? there is no police available in Greece for us. They all are preoccupied guarding the journalists and the politicians....lucky us!
P.S. 2 -If I don't top out my bike is because I don't have money for fuel and not because I am affraid of the ticket......bikes don't get tickets! Period.

MPH is fine. I just thought it was a typo. Thats awesome. I'd love to do some riding out there. I have been there about 3 or 4 times but never rode. So Jealous!

Shoot I was feeling bad since a fried of mine was getting almost 50 MPH on his Busa (which had over 100K miles on it).

Maybe my readout is wrong? I shouldn't be getting that bad, especially if there's that much of a difference. I don't ride it that hard either....might have to look into this.
