03 SP2
Previous owner told me about the problem with a lot of these tanks. Told me he had JBWelded the area by the rear pivot. Wasn't leaking. Now it is.
I'd just as soon repair this the right way. I have a POR-15 kit. I have done many tanks, as I restore old Brit bikes. Anything out of the ordinary I should be aware of?
I don't think it's a large hole. Just a drop every minute or so...

These were only problems on the SP1's ('00-'01) to my knowledge.
I've not heard of this problem on the SP2's.
I think it centers around a leak near the weld joint of the tank hinge.
As the bike is leaned to the left on the side stand, it tended to weep fuel and drip onto a wiring bundle, then travel down and drip onto the rear head pipe.
I'm thinking it might be cheaper to remove, drain, and flush the tank, and then apply a tank sealant to the interior (after removing the fuel pump etc.).

There is a recall of some sort. If anyone had any hard info on that recall number or any other info on the official Honda fix I'd appreciate it.
I'm up against the dealer and they don't want to do anything about it.
