So today i went and looked at a bike and picked it up. It was budget buy, i was not willing to spend more then 2000 Euro. She runs good, just needs some cleaning and general maintenance. Felt good to ride again today.:D

More to follow;)

Have to say thanks to the wife on this one, was really supportive in letting me buy a 5th bike. She's a pretty cool chick.:)

I had one...honestly this bike change the game back in 1992/93. The 16" blows when it comes to tire choices now but massage a 17" in there and it will be gold.

Nice find there buddy...ride the snot out if it or just wheelie everywhere you go.

No doubt you'll be tinkering to improve it - it's a foregone conclusion with you.... ;)

Nice find, Paul - that's a helluva lot of bike for under 2,000 Euros! After sorting out the front end, with enough patience on Ebay you should be able to find a decent used exhaust for very cheap!
Buy a Dynojet kit and slightly change the gearing - it'll make a quite wheelie prone & fun bike. They sound great too! ....and get those horrible wheel stripes off soon too! :D

Thanks fellas. I really like the bike a lot. Super fun, i don't think i could have found anything better for 2000 Euro.Shs's a bit rough. Everything mechanically works, she just needs some cleaning, fluid changes, and checks done. It was originally bought in Italy and then made it's way up here. The guy i bought it from was older, and wanted a touring bike because the CBR hurt his back. Gave me a second exhaust, rear cowl fairing, and bike stand along with it.

Don't worry, graphics are staying for sure. Not sure why but i love the old graphics on 90's bikes, and it was originally what grabbed my attention on this bike. Makes it stand out. The plan is to bring it back to the US. I will of course be posting updates.

For the money, it's the most performance you're gonna get in Germany, I think!
It's an iconic bike too. I remember when these were new (the prior model) and how cool they were.

Has it been dropped on the right side? Front cowl and possibly the exhaust appear a little scuffed, but it looks fairly decent for a bike of this age & mileage. A good polish of the panels will bring the lustre back up...Like you say, it just needs a little TLC & possibly a few minor modifications. :)

The previous owner had it for over 4 years. He said he never dropped it, but before that he is not sure. I think it was at one point. Yeah, its hard to see in the photos but the fairings have some bad spots. He tried to clean them up by sanding some of the points down and then with paint but its not an exact match. Would be an easy fix to get them looking new again.

I guess you'll make it like new as part of the fun of ownership. :D

Any plans to upgrade the suspension? I remember they used to wallow a bit on long fast corners (Like most suspensions on older bikes!).

Sheesh, at this rate you'll have whole hareem of sports bikes to choose from when you get back to the US, right down to the little 50 for popping out to get milk!
