Hi guys,
Ive seem to have a bit of a problem wit my baby.(04Rc51)
Took her out for a ride,a slow one.Came back home to get the leathers on for a hard ride out in the country. But getting back on it,only just getting up the road. The bike cut out.and wouldnt start.Pushed it back home, luckily only being really close to home. And checked my spark...NOt there.
Both plugs and both leads,...nothing.NO prior warnig or anything
Would it be a faulty ECU?How would I test it?
Anyone got any other suggestions?
Cheers

Highly doubt it's the ECU.. Sounds electrical though, so get your manual out and voltage tester and start checking shit.. It's probably something small (it always is..) it's just a matter of finding it. I'm new to the RC's so maybe one of the experienced RC guys will chime in with a common issue. Good luck.
Thanx Sp1,
I think thats my day for me.Got the manual. And yea.All I can do is voltage testing.Thnx for the help.Summers on its way down here.so gotta get it sorted.
Any other systems fail as well?
It could be the main fuse.
Need more input.
Just did few testings. And come to conclusion its the ignition pulse generator unit.
Not reading 0.7V as required. So getting that ordered.and then will see from that.Ill keep posted.hopefully it might help someone else one day.
Hi guys

Well firstly thanks all for the help guys.
Just to keep everyone posted on the progress of my baby.
Received the ignition pulse generator. And yea, wasnt the problem.Turns out I need a convertor unit.Which have bought one through Ebay.Man its hard to get parts for her.Specially seeing that theres only 5 in he whole of New Zealand.
But when that comes, ill let you know if its the progress Im hoping for.

Cheers
Glad to hear you've diagnosed the problem.

By the way, grab a tube of dielectric grease and put a dab on all your electrical connectors.
It really helps with moisture problems and corrosion prevention.
Thanks SubSailor,
Ill do just that.Cant wait to get out on it.Been like a month now.Its crazy.

Cheers

Thank you

Hi Bryan
Can't help with ohm reading sadly.. But has your bike got a power commander on? I remember that sometimes if they got a jolt of electricity they would malfunction leading to 'no spark'.. If it has got one one might be worthwhile unplugging it and seeing if it has a spark without it..
I Could be barking up totally the wrong tree. But might help 👍
