Hi,

Just brought home a 2003 RC51 yesterday. Going through it more carefully and compiling parts I need to relieve my buyer's remorse lol.

Is this brake lever bent or are they all like that?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Unfortunately it looks bent, should be almost parallel to the foot peg.
It can be repaired with vices and heat.

I figured. Heat so it doesn't fatigue the aluminum I'm assuming. New is $80. Might as well give it a shot.

While I have you here, I'm missing a chain guide, cover and associated hardware on this side, correct?

The wheel paint scheme idea of the previous-previous owner has a lot to be desired and have to be refinished. How should I go about getting this painted/powder coated in the correct OEM color? Matte black close enough or should I tell the paint/powder coater to use OEM code 08P50-NH377M?

Yes, you are missing the chain guide/slider, don't even think of riding the motorcycle without it. You are also missing the rear chain grease guard. Chain is rusted so you need new set of chain and sprockets. You can install a 520 set instead of 530 for less weight.

Regarding the wheel color i think other members should step in.

Yup. Not riding it until its replaced. Unfortunately, the previous owner did and it machined the swing arm a little. I think I caught it in time.
The chain slider is discontinued but there are aftermarket ones

Edit : My bad, that's for SP-1, your swingarm is SP-2. I think yours is still available.
FWIW the date code from the one tire spotted in the pics is also showing a build code for the 47th week of 2014 - that rubber is fairly old now and should not be trusted for any "spirted" riding, YMMV...

Yeah man good eye! That is one thing the seller disclosed, that the tires were “five” years old and he was going to replace if he was going to keep it. Negotiated the price down a little for that.
