As i waited for the dealer to do an ABS reflash on the HD last saturday(dont ask:mad:) i struck up a convo with an older man. We talked the typical bike talk...what you ride, what mods, weather etc...

When he told me that his 2010 street glide had 2200 miles and he was there getting its first oil change, i was somewhat surprised.

It got me thinking. Since i keep record of when i service my fluids, tires, chain and the such. When i returned home i looked up my records...

Since my last service on the 51 i have put 2,956mi on the ticker(mind you that is with 15/41 gearing) That was all between 5/13 though 9/13.

The Harley was ridden 2,801. Most of which was two up riding with my girlfriend. Keeping in mind i purchased the Harley in early August and covered it up for the winter in late October.

Thats a grand total of 5,560ishmiles:eek:

I spend a fair amount of time on this forum. I would say its time well spent(or spent well)
I spend a lot more time in the saddle...can you say the same:confused:

So how much do you ride?

That is quite a bit of riding. I'm not even close, I'll have to double check...but I think I've only clocked about 200-275mi (over the course of 6mths) on my SP2, and that includes two days at the track

But my mileage will be lower now that I will primarily track ride.

I am happy to report that I have put about 1300mi (over the course of 6mths) on the Ruckus though :D

Not enough...I have spent 40 years on two wheels and I think in my 20's is when I did the most riding. I remember one year I only had a bike (no car) FZ600 one season 30,000 kms + except its damn cold here in the winter. I would like to ride more but life just gets in the way but when I retire...

There's a local ruckus MC out of Seattle....cant remember the name, but its ironic, that i remember:rolleyes:

I've seen them near my work last summer...stretched swing arms, fat rear tires, turbo's and more glitz and glamor than a Freddy Mercury convention:eek:

Oddly... i still want one:p

I tend to ride between 5-7K a year.
Not near as much as some, but quite a bit more than others.
I did just under 6 last year.

Given the averages of my past and current bikes, I'd say I average 6000-8000 miles/year. Mostly within 300 miles of my home.

Same here. I average about 5-7k, a year or two after i got my CBR ( like 07-08 ish) i put almost 15k on my CBR in a year. I've slowed down a bit and got the RC in march last year. in a year I've put 3500 on the RC and about 4k on the CBR. got my CBR with 3 miles on it, and 7.5 years later its got 44k and some change on it. Still runs great. just vibrates a bit more than it used to haha.

15+ years ago, I would ride 15,000 miles or so per year and covered a total of around 68,000 miles on my VFR750.
I've done some 45,000km on my SP2 mostly in the 1st 5 years I owned it. The last 3 years I don't travel so much & (sadly) no longer live near the roads surrounding mount Fuji, so I ride much less. I probably did less than 1,000km on mine last year but it's OK, it'll stay better preserved for when I ride it over the next 30 years or so. :D

Around 1,000 miles over the PA riding season, so like 5 months.

Used to ride about 3,000 miles a year while in Colorado. Sadly, i've ridden a whopping 12km in the past year and it doesn't look like that number is going to change this year either.

I used to ride around 700 miles a year. But then I got divorced. Now I ride around 2000 miles a year I would say.

I'm in the 5000 miles per year range.
It's very fortunate for me that I enjoy year around riding, so I do a lot of running around errands on my bike as well as serious mountains and twisties riding on the weekends.

Im glad to see there a some here that still ride! I envy those who can ride all
year as the NW weather doesn't allow that(for practical reasons):(

I get the impression that this phenomenon of owning a motorcycle, but barely riding it may be a Harley Davidson thing:rolleyes:

I've got about 33,000 miles on my '02 RC51 but I have had two sportbikes the whole time I've owned it. I had 27,000 miles on an '05 CBR that was stolen in 2011 and have put about 6,000 miles on the '11 replacement. I also had a '96 900RR when I bought the RC in '02 and it had about 37,000 miles on it when I traded it for the '05. I do ride year around as long as there is no ice on the streets. I have ridden the bike to work when the temp was down to 10 below zero, 16 miles one-way. I have good cold weather riding gear.
