All the local shops want to charge me 2x as much to mount my rear tire since I didn't buy it from them. So I searched for some tips on breaking the bead and stuff and found a pretty good write-up.
Just for the record, I broke the bead the same way I do it with quad tires. I jack up my car, place a 2x6 under my car tire, and leaning on the tire to be changed right NEXT to the rim, and then slowly let the car down till it breaks the seal. ;)
edit: I also decided to just pay the $40 rather than go through all the trouble. :p
