Thanks! I bought it from the original owner, he bought it new in 04, pretty cool the title says 2 miles. It was an interesting buy, I guess similar to the housing market I ended up paying more than his asking price, it turned into a bidding war between a couple of folks, distance wise I was the closest to the seller, the other folks that wanted it would have had to have it shipped so I think that helped me some, even Iconic was trying to buy it from him. Still I feel great about the price I paid, he was asking $8k and I got it for $9k. (plus a bajillian $'s in gas for my truck today lol, 6 bucks a gallon hurts doing road trips in a V10 truck that gets 7 miles to the gallon)

Wow…👍I've been hunting for a Nicky bike for like 3 years, well today was the day I finally bought one, she's super clean, low miles and never down, it required a little road trip to go get her but all worth it, I am so stoked!!

Bidding war? Screw that. Its a gorgeous bike and I congratulate you, but I wouldn't buy a bike from someone with that level of integrity. First person to come up with the asking price would get it if I were the seller, no matter what someone else offered me. Pitching buyers against each other belongs in the real estate market, not the motorcycle market.

Yep that makes 3 RC51's now in the garage, I'm debating selling one of my 02's but need to keep thinking on that, not an easy decision for me though as from here on out the values should only rise so they are such a great investment.

It was a first for me and I agree it was definitely odd, in the sellers defense when I first spoke to him about 3 hours after he listed it the very first thing he said was he apologized but was realizing he was out of touch with current market price and priced it too low, he was getting a flood of hits nationwide on the listing. The bike hasn't been ridden much in the past 6 years, the seller was a doctor with some very nice toys, I don't think he had been paying attention to value's rising on the RC51 of recent. In the end I'm ok with it, he could have had it listed for 12 and I would have bought it, so getting it for 9 feels really good to me.

I get it. Still grates a bit. Do your research before listing a bike or do the right thing and sell to bidder number 1 at asking price, regardless of location. That gives someone on a budget a chance to buy the bike of their dreams once in a while. Speculation pricing has taken 2 strokes and 400s out of the ordinary man's hands and into museums and now our beloved RC51s are headed that way.
Don't mind my rambling. I'm just getting old and cranky.

I dropped the Nicky bike off at my buddy's shop, the tires are old and shot so she'll get a new set of rubber, as well all the fluids are old from sitting more or less for the past 6 years, oil, clutch, brake, coolant, new chain & sprockets too and she'll be all fresh and ready to ride!
I think I'm going to take the aftermarket undertail off and put the oem rear fender, blinkers, and tail light etc on.
Over the last couple years I've become a hoarder on RC51 parts as more and more are becoming discontinued, I've been building up a spares collection to keep me going into the future as well etc. I pulled out my parts boxes today and was able to piece together a complete oem rear fender with tail light, blinkers, and license plate light and holder without having to order anything, oh my does that feel good.

Thx & good eye, yes one is new and one is used but in great shape, the new one is going on the Nicky bike, I had planned to put the other on one of my 02's that currently has an aftermarket under tail on it but I'm still undecided.I see a second uncut OEM undertail in that stash... if you are ever interested in letting it go
I installed an aftermarket undertail many many years ago and wouldn't mind having an option to undo that...
Beautiful purchase.

The other day I dropped off the oem rear fender along with a new fuel filter & fuel pressure regulator, and a box of donuts to my buddy's shop, hoping the donuts help to move up the line in the que, being summer here now I know they have many bikes in the que.
I saw this pic today on their IG, looks like the Nicky bike made it up on one of their lift's this afternoon, hopefully this means I'll get it back by end of the week, I'm so exited!

Stopped by my buddy's shop today and they were just finishing up the Nicky bike, fresh Q4 tires, new chain n sprockets, plugs, new brake pads, new fuel filter and pressure regulator, all fluids flushed, set the sag for me, etc... I was able to pick her up this afternoon and get a quick rip in and now finally bring her home.
