sometimes when giving the bike gas to take off from a stop it will backfire. sounds like its coming from the intake in front of the bike. only mods to the bike are flapper valve mod and new denso plugs.
The previous owner of my bike didn't put any anti-seize on the nuts and I was sweating bullets when the nuts didn't want to break loose.
All I needed was a sheared off stud to make my day.
Fortunately they loosened ok with a little teasing.
I made sure they got a dose of anti-seize when I installed my new exhaust system.
I give the old girl far better attention than her last owner.

Hey guys, man, not a lot of good luck so far. I have a 2004 with 13,000 miles and just went for a putt. Started running horrible, one cylinder. Stalled out. Fired up, ran fine for a sec while blowing oil out the back. Started heading home and it hit again. Got home and it'll fire right back up...
