Thanks! Looks like there are 2 different part numbers a 35020-MCF-640 and a 35020-MCF-670. I'm assuming the 640 is the one with the passing button/on-off switch and the 670 is one without? Obviously that is an assumption so if anyone has any knowledge here, please let me know.According to the fowlers online parts fiche it is number 5 which is part number 35020 MCF 640.
I much prefer this option on my SP1.
No offense, but when I installed one of these (which I purchased from Scotts, hence why I want to go back for another) it did in fact work exactly as you expect it wouldn't. I do know that the low beam on an 07+ 600rr is on the same circuit as the starter and I wouldn't be surprised if you tell me the same on an RC, however all I can say is that this did work on my old RC. Unfortunately I sold that bike a few years ago and where it went I have no idea.there's no way that this switch will interrupt your low beam for you. the low beam wiring never touches the connector for the handlebar switch on the US model rc51.
in fact, if you plug this thing into your bike, it won't even work properly for most of its functions.
to make it work right, with limited functionality, you have to re-pin it. If you want to control the low beam, you'll need to do some harness modifications.
I just rewired one of these.
The low beam circuit doesn't touch the connectors that this plugs into.
It can operate the high beam just fine, and also the marker lights in the front signals, as well as the horn and signal lights. But the low beam no. Unless you do some wiring in the harness.
Scott was probably re pinning these so they would work on these bikes, but if he was adding the functionality of shutting off the low beam you would have to pull some wiring out of the harness and re-route the headlight low beam circuit through this switch.
Your Google worked better than mine! Yes, I did search it also.here let me google that for you
