What's the accepted cure?
Mine leaks by the rear pivot. I can either braze a plate onto it to reinforce it, or POR15 the tank.
Or, is there another cure that I'm missing?

Having expierience on tanks from hot rods and old tanks. I alwasy braze small pin holes and braze plates over larger areas but if im in a tank I always POR 15 it while its out I love the stuff. really great product.Just my opinion.

Is your bike an '00-01 model?
They had a recall for fuel tank leaks.
Check with your dealer. Some have gotten tank replacements.

Not sure. I learned of this from another RC51 site.
Apparently there is a history of some SP1 fuel tanks leaking near the pivot weld point.
Fuel then drips down onto a wiring bundle and then the rear head pipe.
