Hi All,

Looking seriously at a 2001 RC51 with no mods and very clean, 4700 miles. What would you all consider a fair price? I am not looking to steal something but just want I price that I should feel good about.

my history
bikes owned=Honda F4; R1
used to do track days a bit
been off of a bike for two year
grew around everything from dirt bikes to harleys

Thanks for the help!

KBB lists dealer retail at $5940, but as we know,
the dealer retail is always higher. I'd guess that
DRFLGD's estimate of $5K is right on target.
NADA book value (low to high) is $3655 to $4810.

The dealer is just trying to make a profit on the sale.
After all, that's what businesses do.
5k's about right even for a 2001. It does keep the resale value pretty good. Goodluck!

Yeah, Sub, you're right about that! Out of curiosity I checked the KBB (Kelly Blue Book) trade-in value, good condition, and it was a measly $4090. With KBB retail being $5940, the dealer clears $1850. A more realistic (private sale) value would be an average between trade-in and retail values, which equals $5015 (almost exactly the $5k value we all seem to agree on).
