Ok, so I'm on a budget and there aren't that many pipes available for an SP1. So here are my choices I currently have: D&D, ART, Scorpions or Kerker. I like the D&D because they are made specifically for the SP1. I've not heard much about ART. I know Scorpions are a well known brand and not really seen on an SP1 but with aftermarket midpipes, I can get them to fit. Not heard much about Kerker.

Any opinions on what I should buy?

Yes, I would love LadyBird pipes, but that will have to wait until next year.

I have a friend with an SV650 that has a scorpion slip-on.
I must say it sounds nice and throaty on his bike.
Never knew too much about Scorpion until then.

I mostly knew D&D from their slip-ons for Buells.
The were definitely loud on those bikes.

I am "leaning" towards the Scorpion. Fnarrr. I've done some more research and decided to scrap the ART cans. I've heard they were a little poor, quality wise. Being an Englishman living in Indianapolis, I think I will go with the Made in England Scorpion cans. But I may still change my mind, I'm a little indecisive. At least, I think I am.

Madbuyer, I'm up in Cicero. I work downtown so you may occasionally see my bike at The Regions Bank building. Most of my riding is done up north near home. Planning on Brown County in a couple of weeks though.

I am off work until the 18th after tomorrow and will be back in town by the 14th, after that I am free. Brown County is crap since they tarred and graveled the state highways.

Might I suggest I-65 to IN-58 at the walesboro exit. Follow it to Bedford or 446 back to Bloomington then through Yellowwood Forest.

OR
(Preferred)
I-65 to the 250 Uniontown exit to IN-3 to W. Deputy Pike to IN-7 into Madison. I ride along the river and stop at the casino buffet for lunch.:D

Take a look....:D

Mate, you're a legend. Thanks for the heads up. I don't know too many good places to ride around here. I ordered the Scorpion cans in the end. Arrive Wednesday. Not been this excited since my last daughter was born!

I know I really haven't posted anything on here but I do find some of the topics quite entertaining. I was able to buy a set of D&D mids from another member here and i combined them with a pair of Scorpions for an Aprilla RSV. It sounds really nice and respectable. I Don't know about the HP gains but I did save some weight in the rear. on top of that theres that whole lifetime warranty right? Anyways, you won't regret that choice at all, besides once you have the mid-pipes you should be able to use any can (slip-on) you want. BTW I also have an SP-1 but am here in the southern west coast good luck with your final decision. Oh, and cheers mate lol

I must be looking in al the wrong places; I can not find anyone selling exhaust cans for a sp1. I have searched all the manufactures sites and online bike parts sites where can I find exhausts for my sp1? Where did you get your Scorpions cwpsp1?

I got mine from DB Powersports in Hickory, NC. He sent me some free midpipes, but they are junk. The left one won't fit properly. He said he will get it sorted for me but we shall see about that. I contacted Scorpion and they said they will send me some for free if the dealer can't sort it out. I asked them to send them anyway but they wouldn't. Buggers. The pipes do look good. Great build quality.

There are a few thing you guys can do for the SP1 exhausts.

The first is expensive but is really nice, find a pair of mids yoshi, Sato, or Ethos are all really nice and buy some Ladybirds from Simon.

Second, Check out the GPR systems. There are a few on ebay, they are pretty popular in Europe. I had a full titanium GPR system on my R6 and it sounded great and put up some really impressive numbers (98 stock, 120 with GPR system, BMC filter and PCIII). I'm sure the RC systems from them will not be any different

Third, keep running through ebay and the forums. They do pop up. i recently sold my Arrow system which was near perfect for less then 200.

The yoshi's do pop up often and they are a great system.

I just bought my second RC which is a 2000 with 31,000 miles on it. It has a full yoshimura 2-1 system which sounds amazing but I'm not too crazy about the look, my 05 RC had high mount m4 exhaust which was very smooth. Call me crazy but I think v- twins should have dual exhaust. Where did u pick up ur scorpions at?

DB Powersports in Hickory, NC. I paid $400 for the pair, and this included shipping and midpipes. The left midpipe is not a perfect fit, you may have to play it a little/smack it with a hammer/use your grinder/get angry with it/kick it etc etc. But for free, I won't argue.
