I'm going to mate an sp1 to sp2 x pipe. Not need anything perfect from the x pipe to cylinder. Just need the x pipe back.

There you go! That's what I did too, about 3 years ago. I've had the privilege and expense of running 5 different SP2 exhaust slip-on systems. Currently running Sato ovals.
I would recommend using the SP2 rear cylinder down-pipe, if you get one with your project header. It will help keep the header from drooping over time. You'll see what I mean when you start mocking everything in place.

Did you swap out the collar to the sp1 with the sp2 down-pipe?

I still have my SP2 downpipe, however, I didn't fit it into place. I'm still using my double jointed SP1 downpipe, and apparently over time, they slipped apart just enough to allow the bottom of the header to [almost] melt the inside of the bottom of the fairing. I fabbed up a bracket to prevent that, and left the SP1 downpipe in place.
