Hello, I have owned an 00 RC51 many years ago. I missed it and just bought a 2002 model. I am researching information to make sure I can keep it up and running.

Welcome. The SP2 is the better choice anyway. imo. So many SP1 guys put SP2 parts on their bike, myself included, that it ends up being more like a SP1.5.

Welcome. Aside from a couple high mileage niggles, they are a pretty solid bike. FPR failures and tank leaks are common faults, but are able to be remedied. Most common complaint is fuel mapping at street (low) rpm IMO. They like to buck below 3300 rpm or so if you don't run a PC and a better map. Personally I just kept it in 1st gear most of the time and avoided the burps.
