Hello All,
Just joined yesterday, I am totally impressed with the amount of info, and suggestions available here. Plus what seems like plenty of friendly fellow enthusiasts. A few weeks ago, I was looking through Craigslist, trying to find a nice used VFR800, which I did, located in Reno. Then I saw this '02 RC51 for sale in the Sacramento area. Well, she blew my skirt up, so to speak, and the Interceptor became a distant memory. Guy was a bit of a reluctant Seller, which I'm sure most owners of these beautiful bikes are. Glad it's mine now. I've already convinced myself that one is not enough! Thanks for the great forum!

Just someone I admired for many years. Kind of a tribute as well.

Don't like to date myself, but I was in high school when RC Engineering came out with a 717cc big bore kit for the KZ650! Ouch! My brother had an RC engineering 4 into 1 pipe on his GS-750 around that same period too. Yeah, back in the good ole days, when that little red RD-400 ruled the streets of So-Cal!

Thank you twice. I was lucky enough to find this one that someone had already added alot of nice bits to. Wouldn't surprise me if someone on this forum recognized the bike, since it seems like a somewhat tight knit community. There's definitely a few bikes on this forum that are off the charts gorgeous. Reminds me alot of the Two Stroke World forum. I consider bikes like these as "No Sell-Ums". I'll be on the lookout for a primo low mileage stocker as well. These prices on the RC's won't last. The two stroke RZ's, and now even the aircooled RD's are fetching impressive prices for premium bikes.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your find.
I can't say I've seen that bike for sure, but maybe. Since I've owned mine for the last eight years, I've seen twenty or more RC51's out and about in my area, ridden with four or five of them. Are you anywhere near the Sacramento area?

btw, funny you mention the vfr. Many here have had them or still have one. I sold my 02 vtec model just a couple months after my RC51 was street worthy!

Yeah, I'm halfway between Sac and Lake Tahoe. Bike was purchased from a guy in Stockton, so right next door basically. It was on C/L for a few weeks, and he told me he tried selling at the beginning of Summer, but pulled the ad because he couldn't bear the thought.
