I scored another Nicky bike today, too good of a deal to not grab, just got back home from driving up to WA to pick it up!

She's a little rough and needs some love but I think I have most all the parts needed. (y)

Gonna look great when it’s done I’m sure. The little things make all the difference when you put it all together.👍

Ok I find myself at a fork in the road, I'm debating again on changing out the high mount exhaust and run a low mount setup so that I can run an uncut oem rear fender and turn signals etc. I had decided against it for now because the tail had been "notched" for the exhaust mounts, but I just recently came by another oem tail (thank you @ Fortysix&2 (y)) and spent some time converting it into an 04 Nicky tail with white number plates. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but just finished it and am really pleased with the results, the tail is oem and was from an 00/01/02 model year with the black number plates, I used a white wrap overtop the black, worked great! The tail is uncut so now I could run this tail and run my oem rear fender setup, I went ahead and assembled the rear fender with tail light etc so it's ready to go if need be.

What do you think, should I keep the high mount Ladybird exhaust on and run the tail that's been notched and a cut rear fender, or should I run a low mount exhaust setup and this new reworked tail and oem uncut rear fender and turn signals?

I must say that it’s probably pretty nice to have choices😎,but since you have another one already setup with low mount and rear fender keep this setup for awhile.Keep the spares for that”OH S&$$” moment we all know is possible. But if you decide to go the other way I will gladly take the high mounts and cut tail to make room for your other future purchases 😎

Sound logic indeed, for me there is definitely something peaceful about riding a B bike that is so much more enjoyable not having to worry about if something bad happens and knowing you have replacement spares to fix.

She's up at my buddies shop making friends... 🥰

I'm going to start pulling all the parts needed together this weekend and see what I'm missing. Good times, something about new projects always gets me excited!

Nice find on your Nicky Brother.
I thought about selling my Nicky and my swag collection to go with her, this year to fund my
RnineT project I have wanted to do for years and years, but I never pull the trigger to post the ad, I will spend a day putting together the ad and pics and what I have done with her, and, never post the ad.
These bikes get into your soul. I would love a badass pair of high mounts, but the low mounts keep her OG.
Have fun with your project.

Hello Mark. This Nicky is my girl, I have done so many cool things with her. When I put her up for sale, I'm sure
someone will comment on her, here at RC51 forums. I also have a pretty impressive JoeRocket and others
Nicky Hayden riding gear and other collectibles, my mini Hayden collection;)

Sorry for the lack of updates on this Nicky bike build, things are slowly moving along, I got distracted a bit on another RC51 I just bought that we are working on the build sheet for as well so my head is spinning a bit. I think I've decided to make this bike my Nicky rider that I put miles on so I want to transfer some of the good parts from my other RC51's on it to enjoy those miles and parts to the fullest. I'm going to use the Ohlins forks and shock from my other Nicky bike, and the OZ wheels from one of my 02 RC51's, the OZ wheels are being powder coated gloss black. I still keep debating on running the high mount Ladybird slipons or instead run a low mount system and oem rear fender tail light blinkers etc. To make that an even harder decision I just scored another full Akrapovic low mount system, this one is with the carbon fiber cans. I'm also trying to decide on rearsets, I was able to find a set of sliver TSR rearsets and also found a set of the black Sato rearsets, options. I think the black Sato rearsets would match nicely with the gloss black OZ wheels, as well some black Pazzo levers I have.

Let me know if you folks have any inputs, thanks!

All tasty bits, I would run the Akra's as they sound so nice and are not too loud. Mount both rearsets, and see which you like, with your color scheme. Everyone has different tastes, and sometimes I see a bike with tons of nice stuff, but seems to be a mish-mash, while others build bikes that seem to be cohesive. I have spent big bucks, and put stuff on my bike, only to take it off and sell it. It's (one of :D ) your bikes, so build exactly what you like. Just keep posting pictures!
