For those who don't have the service manuals, they can be freely obtained online at these two locations:

RC51.info (was offline for awhile, but now it's back online)
http://www.rc51.info/index.php?page=service

This site has both N. America and UK/Europe manual versions, and for nostalgia, the HRC SP1 service manual as well.

This site has the N. American service manual, and the HRC SP1 manual at a different link.

These manuals are the bibles for RC1 service.

Note: One important gotcha. The fork service instructions are based on the SP1 forks.
The SP2 forks use a different fork cap design that is disassembled differently than the SP1 fork cap.
For disassembly of the SP2 fork cap, refer to the 954RR or 2004-2007 CBR1000RR service manual for instructions on fork cap removal.
Otherwise, one can damage the rebound adjuster rod if the instructions not followed.

For reference, here is my thread on the fork seal change: http://www.rc51forums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7973

Copied from my post over on speedzilla, noting the difference between SP2 and SP1 fork caps.

Removing the "locknut" (the black 8 sided nut) was easier if you held the damper rod adjuster from the bottom where the other locknut is. The top of the adjuster is really easy to strip out since it is just flat sides on a threaded piece of aluminum.
