I have the plastics off my RC for the first time to do an oil change, and figured I'd do the PAIR and flapper mods while I have it apart. How long should it take, and what do I need? I have the Kyle plates already, and instructions from ROGUE, isn't something a little different in the PAIR mod for the SP2? Thanks

It took me about two hours as I wanted to put caps on at the vacuum ports vs cutting the hose and putting a bolt or screw in it.
I don't think there is much differance other than locations for some of the parts.

Hello Guys,
I hope you dont mind me jumping in on your chat, is it possible to tell me more about this modification like what it does etc. Not long had my RC51 here in England.
Thanks Steve

Well the PAIR mod is to remove the air injection system used to reduce exhaust emissions.
It's quite possible the Euro bike don't have it, only US/Canada models.
I've seen where our Aussie riders only have cast areas on their cam covers where the reed valves ordinarily reside.

The flapper mod is to remove the flapper actuator in the snorkel with associated vacuum hoses and tank.
The flapper valve was in place to reduce intake noise from 5000 to 7000 RPM.
This went along with the different OEM air filters used, where one filter had a foam insert (to further damp intake noise) and one did not.
The effect of the flapper valve system was to cause a dip in torque from 5000 to 7000 RPM while actuated.

Besides eliminating the torque dip, removing the flapper valve and associated hardware also loses around 2-4 lbs of weight. It does not add additional power.

So...a couple of hours to pull everything out for weight savings? PAIR and flapper? Anybody know the size of the rubber caps that should be used to plug the airbox nipples?

Ok thanks for that.
