I've currently got an '02 rc51 with a somewhat buggy tune on it. I've read that the PCIII will fix some issues of the PCII like the sometimes sluggish cold starts and the PCIII also has higher resolution (500rpm increments instead of 1000rpm increments for fueling). I'll barely recoup any money from selling a PCII at this point and I don't plan on doing my own tuning, but rather would like to take it to a dyno shop to get it pro-tuned.

I don't care about the random sluggish starts, but will there be a significant difference as far as map/tune stability? Does the higher resolution actually make a significant difference to justify the added price? Basically, from your basic student income's standpoint, would it be worth it to buy the PCIII or just tune the PCII?

I have a PCII on mine and dont have any problems with it. I wouldnt mind the USB version but I dont think it will make much difference to top end power but may be better when cruising.
