I recently bought a 2000 SP1 with an Arata exhaust and the PCII. I heard the PCII has some quirks and was wondering if I would gain anything upgrading it to a PCIII?

the biggest thing is the ability to us a usb cable and transfer different maps a lot easier. makes it a lot easier to tune and change stuff when needed.
I agree with above. The level of tuning with the 3 is so much better so yes you will gain something through more efficient tuning with the newer unit.
I was under the impression that the PCIII wasnt compatible with Sp1's??
they sure are...part# 105-411
good to know thatnks.. i already have a PCII but its good to know the upgrade is there if I ever wanna get crazy with remapping. Thats the difference right.. Its easier to remap by using the usb cable?
The connection type does pose a problem if you do not have a laptop with a serial port but other than that I wouldn't necessarily say it is easier to map. The PCIII gives you more mapping options.
Ok, so I have the original Power Commander, serial port version. Other than the USB connection, is there any other advantage or reason to upgrade to the PC3? Are the maps going to be any different? Any info on this is appreciated, thanks.
If you have a PCII than that will do the trick. The PCIII does provide more mapping adjustments but I would just use the PCII it you already have it. I am using a PCII on my SP1 and it works fine.
