Hi All,

When I got the gas tank and airbox off the bike, I found that there was that little clear/white plastic bottle in there . . . it is part of the PAIR system but nobody has even mentioned its removal as part of the process . . . Can/should I remove it?

No, it's the crankcase vent catch tank.
Do not remove it.
It's there to hold the residual oil that's separated from the crankcase air/oil mist that churned up during operation.

Most of the mist from the tank is routed up into the airbox and down into the throttlebodies and burned (part of pollution control).
There's a hose with a plug and clamp on the left side, near the side stand (one of many hoses). This drains the tank.

Periodically, place a drain pan under the hose, loosen the clamp, then pull the plug and drain the catch tank.
If the engine is run at high RPMs often, the you may need to drain it more frequently.

Thank you Sub!

Now, taking a better look at the schematics I can see which of the two hoses I am to remove and I understand it now. Sorry, I was a little fuzzy before.

While on the topic, what did you use to plug the hole for the PAIR hose that was removed from the airbox?

I was wondering about that catch tank after I followed it to the front of the engine. Im gonna leave the pink hose for drainage. So that means just plugging the one next to the pink one, correct? If I leave the stock plates on there then I can just throw some plugs on the end of the tube? Brilliant. Anyone have any ideas on how to get a stubborn flapper valve pin out? I tried leaning it over but that didnt help.

Thanks!! I'll see if Home Depot has the appropriate plug.
Sorry, didn't mean to confuse anyone with the hoses.
The PAIR hose connection on the airbox can be capped with a 5/8" (15mm) heater bypass cap.
I found them at Advance auto parts.
They are a Dorman Cooling Bypass Cap (2 per package), Dorman pn 02252.
It fits snugly over the airbox fitting, and for additional security, I used a small radiator hose clamp.

For the flapper pin I used a very little bit of super glue on the end of an Allen key and held it there then when it set enough I pulled it out.

For the Flapper valve; after taking the grill off of the intake and removing the vacuum apparatus (the part that has the hook), I grabbed the flapper/fin between my finger and thumb to wiggle it left and right back and forth quickly to shimmy it out

even if you left the flapper in .. once you discon the vaume to it it stays in the open position anyway

if anyone needs i have a set of NEW PAIR block off plates for 35.00 shipped
