Ride magazine in the UK posted the results of their "Essential Bikes" survey, a survey of the best used bikes in Britain.

Interesting results.
In the "Best Big Sportbike" category, #1 was the CBR1000RR, #2 was the S1000RR, and #3 was VTR1000R-SP1/SP2.

In the "Most Reliable" category, #1 was the VTR1000R-SP1/SP2.

In the "Best Build Quality" category, #1 was CBR1000RR ('08+), #2 was VTR1000R-SP1/SP2.

Apparently the old girl is still thought of fondly by her owners.

I beg to differ on the results.

The S1000RR is a car on 2 wheels.....pumped with lots of horsepower but no torque whatsoever. It is very good in the track cause it uses Ohlins and Brembo which I believe if you compare it to an RC51 with the same equipment (while keeping the rest of the bikes in OEM state) in the track, it will crossing the finish line at the time the RC is loaded back on the trailer to leave the track.
Subjectively the BMW is just UGLY! Looking it from the left and then from the right hand side, you are just looking on two totally different bikes....nothing symmetrical on it.....

"Best Built Quality"......My brother owns the '04 Blade and I can assure you that they tried to remove weight that hard that the result is not what a Honda lover like myself would like to see on a liter superbike. Everything is flexible like it is a fake and the engine's components can be damaged seriously if you just kick it with an army boot :D
I haven't seen the '08 Blade up close but I assume that the weight reduction went just further......
If the kick stand close and the Blade fell down, you are looking at a major damage on the bike.....if the same thing happen to the RC you are looking at a major damage on the pavement :p (minus the rads:rolleyes:)

It was crashed on a straight away and didn't hit anything other than the ground. He said it was a new bike and was pretty vague on what happened. It only drew a yellow flag and every lap I would go by it and take a quick glance over trying to figure out what it even was. The guy only scuffed a finger where his glove burned through.
