I recently picked up an RC51. Rode it for the first time today and LOVE IT. Thing is great, handles awesome and sounds like thunder, even with stock exhaust. Mine is all stock except it has a power commander, the flapper mod and the soft rev mod. I noticed I run into the rev-limiter real easy when wringing on it. The darn thing pulls all the way up to the rev limiter and then falls on its face. I can see that the factory put the soft rev on it to kinda give you a hint when to shift. I wanted to know from others if its actually better to keep the soft rev? I know I still need to get used to the bike but its WAY to easy go be on the rev-limiter when your getting down on it. Feedback from those that have ridden with and without the soft rev....

The soft rev limiter (timing retard) plus hard limiter is North American bikes only.
Everybody else has the hard limiter (ignition cutout) as their only limiter.
If you intend to run at the upper end frequently, then bypass the soft limiter.
You'll find about 5 HP from that extra 1000 revs.
