Hey guys.

Not been here for a LONG while. The Beast has spent most of the last 2 years under a cover. Since I returned to the UK from Holland I simply haven't been able to afford to 'convert' her to UK Road Legal.

Now she's up for sale :( and I need to find out how much of a pain it will be for a buyer to do what I can't.

The one thing I do know needs changed is, here the speedo must read in MPH, not Km/h.

To me, it would make sense for there just to be either a software switch or a wee DIP switch to do the change, as the whole unit is digital anyway.

Does anyone out there know if this is the case? (And if so, how to do it?)

Thanks in advance :D

The speedometer displays both ‘‘mph’’ and ‘‘km/h.’’ Push and hold the multi-function select and reset button ( ) to select ‘‘mph’’ or ‘‘km/h.’’
This function only operates while the display is in the ‘‘ODO’’ mode

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is what the manual said.
Although it also said US only, I haven't tried it on my bike.

But I believe I will give it a go.

Yeah, it doesn't work on mine either :(

My thinking is still that there must be a way to do it, it's all software - well, firmware - not mechanical after all.

The dude who's thinking about buying it says a new MPH unit is over £900!!!!

Anyone got any more ideas of how to solve this?

Currently, I'm able to program speedo eprom memory. I can also set the millage for after crash replaced cluster.
I am looking for some insert file from kmh version to reprogram my current mph version. I looking for file * .hex or *.bin
I can give my mph version *.hex file.

Hi Kizior,

Have you managed to finish the reflash process? I have and SP1 and SP2 (both KMH) that I wish to convert to MPH next year, if you have been successful perhaps you would be willing to share the process?

Yes I've reflash my speedo. I've MPH version and I had to set the right millage. I'm almost sure that same memory chip stores MPH/KMH version marker. But I didn't get KMH version memory instert so It would be nice to get some. I've got your e-mail and have answered.

We can exchange our hex files. I've got MPH version and looking for KMH version to upload it.

Thank you for your reply... appreciate your time, without sounding stupid I assume I need an EPROM reader to get the hex codes? And remove the chip from the board. Sorry but this would be new for me. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Yes. You need desolder memory chip from circuit board of tacho and some eprom programmer to upload new file.
