Gents,

I have put into action a run of Titanium HRC replica valve spring retainers.

The HRC ones are UNOBTANIUM PERIOD.

I know I did not really want to part with the kit, but had too. So, Knowing " ONE DAY " I will build an engine for my project... I wanted a set made while I had them in my hands. ;)

They are exact copy's ofthe HRC part.

I swung a deal, with Ducatikid in OZ.

He bought the engine bits from me in a package deal. He is allowing me to " BORROW " 1 retainer and ship it to my buddy Pete at Ti64 in the UK.

I have two orders at this time, 1 set = 8 Ti retainers.

Pricing is unknown at this time, will post when Pete has the part and gives me his quote for a set.

PM me for all info or to be included for a full set.

Below the list of people in on this production run.

- Duckhunter
- Ducatikid
- LouW
- 5.4 speedster ( Maybe )

A HUGE THANKS to Ducatikid for being absolutely awesome to work / deal with.

You could order a set from Kibblewhite, although a group buy will make it cheaper.
That's where several of us had sets made a few years ago via Damon Stewart.
I even have the dimensions that Damon sent me.

Hi Sub, I was present and watched that whole group buy go down.

Was not " building up or hoarding " at the time. Let alone an active member/poster

Damon's bike is somewhat iconic for me as one of the very coolest builds I have seen yet and very well done.

I want to promote Pete and his company Ti64, as I have found a good buddy in him and want him to do well for himself. He has already forwarded me some of his clients regarding CF.
So it is a two way street for him and I, along with many other that I deal with.
Always a STRONG community among us here - unlike anything I have ever seen.

interested to see what pricing is like. I've got a set and a few spares that Damon helped me get with kibblewhite.

I mailed the actual HRC valve spring retainer to TI64 yesterday.

Pete will let me know when it arrives, then get his measurements from it and ship on to Ducatikid who was kind enough to allow me to do this with the engine kit he bought from me.

I will update as I know more.

Thread revival.

Pete at Ti64 now has all the required items to run a batch of these.

I am going to have 3 sets made at this time.

PM if you want in on these. Working on pricing now. Need to know ASAP.

Looking for some info on the HRC retainers. See below.

Also got some pricing on these for the group now. PM with interest.

If you want a set of these now is the time as I will not be doing this again.

See below copy / paste from Pete at Ti64.

*"""Cost will be around £20 each + cost of cutters (£50) & shipping, they need 30mm dia bar which is pricey.

I noticed in the tapered hole it is relieved by a few thou (stepped) to about half way down, any idea why? not come across that before."""

Anyone help shed some light on this @SubSailor

No idea, except maybe to promote valve rotation to equalize seat wear.
And that's a left field answer with no data to back it up.

The Kibblewhite retainers showed a taper with no steps or reliefs.

Good to see more stuff being made for our bikes by Ti64.

Pete's work is so beautiful it should be rated "XXX"!

Another left field answer.

The top part of the retainer is machined strait for the 9.48mm tappet shim.
The lower part of the retainer is machined tapered for the valve cottor.
The chamfered ring between the strait and tapered part is for stress relief.

Just got an update from Pete at Ti64.

I am going ahead on 3 sets of these so PM me if you want to order a set.

A set of 8 HRC replica retainers in Titanium are going to run about $425 USD shipped from the UK.

I am covering the cost of the custom made cutters ( $120 ) Pete needs to go ahead.

These are exact copies of the HRC valve spring retainers.

Usually the HRC or Moriwaki kit came with inner and outer spring seats as well if using high lift cams.
May need to measure those to determine differences between HRC and OEM dimensions.
Plus, will need HRC or similar springs to go with the retainers and seats for race cam use.

As a sided note, the HRC and Moriwaki retainers were aluminum, with a limited lifespan.
The whole process of Damon having his made in titanium was due to a broken aluminum retainer during a race.

Production on these was completed today.

Only two sets were produced.

I had one extra made and will be kept by Ti64 for future use.

The original has been shipped back to the owner.

This group buy and the special pricing we had for full sets of 8 is now over, any further interest will have to go through Pete at Ti64 himself.

Thanks for the interest.
