Tire shine on tires, help!!!

I bought a 08 ninja 250 for my girlfriend this weekend, and the guy put tire shine on the tires (I know, right). So what would be a good way to get it off with out hurting the tire?, thanks!

As long as he kept it to the sidewalls and not the tread it should be ok.
But you can use detergent and water to scrub it off if you want.

I used to put a little armor-all on my sidewalls when I detailed some of my bikes.
Again, I only kept it to the sidewalls only.
He put it over the WHOLE tire, I couldnt believe it!...It was his first bike too and he didnt know any better though.
Let me guess, he armor-all'ed the seat also?

Break out the soap and water and scrub those tires really well.
Even then I'd be careful until the tread is scuffed in.

I remember a long time ago when I turned down a street that had a car wash at the corner.
Just the soapy runoff on the street made me lose the rear tire.
Good thing I was not even fully engaged in 1st gear, so it just tipped over onto the pipe.
We should all be thanking you for buying the bike off such an idiot with a death wish that CLEARLY doesn't deserve the thrill of owning and riding a motorcycle...
Armourall-ing the tyres totally? Did you think to ask if he plays Russian roulette with five chambers full, one empty?

lol,He was a younger guy and it was his first motorcycle so I took it easy on him!
By the way..soap & water did NOT get the tire shine completely off, Im gonna use rubbing alcohol then go over them with 60 grit sandpaper.
My buddy made the same mistake, soap and water did the trick but a little sand paper should work fine.
