Underseat Exhaust?

Hi everyone,
I've recently got back to an RC51 after a few years absence (and a couple of RSV's).
I currently have low level Blue Flame Evo cans that I don't very much like and will be selling soon. They are loud and stainless with removable baffles but just not my thing. I'm thinking of modding the collector and fabricating a link pipe to an underseat single can. I've not really any idea of the importance of bore, length etc etc when it comes to exhausts so am posting this looking for advice, comments or to just have the whole idea shot down in flames!
I thin it would look nice in a sort of more butch CBR1000RR sort of way.

I thought about it before with mine as well.
Thought about the single sided exhaust too.

I no longer think about either. There is something about the exhaust that just stands out.
That's just my opinion, but definitely would not knock you at all for doing it.
Hell I put plasti-dip on my headlights to make it look more aggressive.
It's your bike, customize as it speaks to you.

It's a lot more custom fab than you may realized though.
Pics if you do!!! And video!!!

I've seen pictures and a video, but personally not my preference.

You would have to do a ton of work for the undertail (removal and heat protection).

Good luck if you do a custom fabrication. Not sure if the video or the picture is anyone here.

It's been done before. In fact Thorsten did a nice one. It's probably the only decent one i've seen done that looks somewhat OEM. Problem is going to be modding your cowl and making the pipes. To have someone do it is going to be super expensive and you probably will not see any major gains. A nice high/banzai mount would look better and give ya good gains as well.

If you are serious about it, i'd contact Durbahn.:)

Old stuff, but Thorsten was one of the original aftermarket tuners who did all the early developing. He came up with the cable clutch, airbox (turnone was a copy of his), ISR caliper platforms, HRC replica fairings etc.

.....oh and MOTEC
